About The Line

You know when your favorite song mentions your hometown and you feel a strange sense of pride? Or when a song you can’t literally relate to still takes you back to a specific moment, frozen in time of your memory? That’s what we hope you get out of from The Line. It’s a place to read, imagine, and reflect. This website started in 2014 as a blog that came from a passion of writing and a love of country music.

Current day, The Line is a place of abstract and imaginative nonfiction with hopes of resonating with every reader the way a good song can, which can be tangibly read and experience through the inaugural copy of The Line Magazine, released September 2022 . The Line is a comprehensive compilation of what makes up life and the existential connection among people, places, and song.

Nonfiction can be whimsical and creative. It doesn’t have to be boringly biographical. Everyone has a story and that very story has the power to invite others in to experience life through their own lens. Kind of like music does for us.

Meet Lisa

Contributor of The Line and The Line Magazine, Lisa lives for writing about the human experience, and somehow country music transports her there the clearest. Between music and nonfiction there is a fine line that makes up the charm of life. There is so much to learn and listen to, so read between the lines. These stories are for you and you are invited in.
